Superintendent, Kerry Juntunen

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Residents of the Proctor Public School District,

I once had a second grade student ask me, “What do you do all day?”  At that moment, I had to try to think of a way to distill the job of a superintendent into words that one of our youngest learners could understand.  “I think about you,”  I began.  “I think about how we can take care of our principals and teachers, bus drivers and cooks, custodians and paras, secretaries and coaches.  If I can do a good job of taking care of them, they will do a really good job of taking care of you.”

It is my hope to accept the trust you have placed in us to bring about the type of positive change that you expect to see as your child grows with us over the years.  Our community of educators, administrators, and support members are here to challenge and guide your child which in turn will allow them to create their own future.  Through equity, safety, community, inclusion, educational excellence, and investment, we will empower all learners to achieve in a respectful, innovative, and caring environment.

Our district’s vision is summed up in the following:  "We Educate, Engage, and Inspire.” To this end, I have an open door policy.  It’s not open so you can come to see me.  Rather, my door is open to encourage me to get out of my office to meet with you.  Please let me know if you have questions, concerns, or solutions.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Respectfully,

Kerry Juntunen, Superintendent
